| Description: | Job Objectives: Coordinate and maintain health care for inmates. Screen incoming inmates and follow-up on inmate medical complaints. Obtain physician’s directions and coordinate and maintain health care. Essential Job Functions: Respond to sick calls form inmates and obtain and follow through with physician’s directions. Coordinate directions and health care for inmates. Maintain medications and order supplies as required. Ensure physician’s awareness of inmates’ illnesses, injuries and responses to treatments. Maintain inmate health records, immunizations and records of some of Reno County Sheriff Officers. Informs staff of required treatments of health care of inmates. Coordinate special diets with Food Service manager. Required to obtain lab specimens. |
| Special Instructions: | Job Standards: Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Kansas or Certified Paramedic licensed by the State of Kansas and certified by NREMT. Medical training and licensed nurse by the State of Kansas. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position. Continued education hours to maintain current knowledge, certification and skills to function as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic Testing/Screening Requested: Must pass a pre-employment Physical Capacity Profile and Drug Screen. |
