'Violent criminals' no longer working at ASU over supervision concerns |

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Safety concerns have prompted the state to end a program allowing violent convicts to do custodial work at Alabama State University. Inmates were reportedly working in close proximity to students. Now, Montgomery's top prosecutor is calling for an end to what he calls dangerous practices by Alabama's prison system. Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey says the violent offenders should never have been on campus in the first place. They’re the people his office works to lock up. Read More. |
