MIAMI - A Lakeland man sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife died Saturday at the South Florida Reception Center. Michael Lee Finn, 47, had been transferred after entering a guilty plea Dec. 6 in Circuit Court in Bartow. Florida Department of Corrections officials could not be reached for comment about the cause of death or the circumstances surrounding his death. Prosecutors had been seeking the death penalty against Finn, but agreed to a plea deal in return for a life sentence. Finn stabbed his 34-year-old wife, Kristen, on May 9 as she tried to flee their home in a neighborhood south of Scott Lake. Read More. |
