Starting in January, Nebraska will ban pornography in prisons |

LINCOLN — Nebraska prison inmates soon will have fewer choices of reading materials. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has issued a ban on all pornographic magazines, books and drawings effective in January, joining a growing number of states that have issued such blanket restrictions. In some states, the restrictions have prompted inmate protests and lawsuits over First Amendment rights. But the move was cheered by family-oriented groups in Nebraska, as well as a nationally known prison consultant from Colorado. Read More. |
