National experts called in to study overcrowding at Pottawattamie County Jail |

When the Pottawattamie County Jail opened in 1999, there was plenty of room with 288 beds. They had been operating on the fifth floor of the courthouse with 43 beds. But two decades later, the jail is full again. "We've continued to see an increase in the population so we need to figure out what to do moving forward as our jail population continues to grow," Tiffany Mass, Jail Adminstrator said.
