| TDOC prepares to open new reporting center |

A new center for inmates released from state prisons will open next month, giving their clients a renewed chance at returning to work rather than jail. The day reporting center on Carriage House Drive is expected to open at the first of August in an attempt to reduce the chance of offenders being arrested again. "Really, everything we do in corrections is about recidivism. That's our goal. Our goal is to enhance public safety," Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Tony Parker said.
