Budget cuts impact officers, inmates at Winnebago County Jail

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- In September, the Winnebago County Board approved $6.8 million in cuts to its budget; $4.3 million of those cuts were to the Sheriff's Department.

Those cuts are taking a toll on the department.

"They expect us to keep things going. It's slowly chipping away at us," said Senior Corrections Officer Mike Delgado.

Winnebago County Corrections officers and inmates are begging for a change.
