They’re given all the tools they need—from cognitive behavioral treatment and one-on-one counseling to GED courses and life-skills programs. We provide a safe and secure environment where men and women can make necessary changes in their lives to return to society whole and ready to succeed. We're looking for a director to help us in the development, implementation, and measurement of these state of the art, impactful corrections programs. Description & Qualifications Reports to the Senior Director, Correction Programs. Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of correctional programs and supporting policies and processes, with special focus on best practices and innovations in correctional education. Essential Functions: 1. Develop and implement appropriate correctional programs which will enhance the rehabilitative nature of MTC correctional facilities. Programs include academic education, vocational training, life skills training, religious services, substance abuse treatment, social work and counseling. 2. Conduct research, analyze data and write accurate comprehensive reports. 3. Provide technical assistance, support and training to educational and programming staff. 4. Audit and track program performance, including comprehensive audit components related to programs and continuing quality improvement strategies. 5. Assist in the development, implementation and achievement of programming goals at each correctional facility. 6. Develop, initiate and monitor statistical data related to the performance criteria and recidivism impact MTC has on supervised populations. 7. Suggest strategies and pilot test innovative ideas to improve facility performance in the assigned program area. 8. Work in conjunction with each facilities Wardens of Programs, Program Managers and/or Education Administrator, and provide an innovative and seamless approach to program services. Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years related experience/higher education. Master's degree in education, special education, educational psychology, or related field desired. Should have knowledge related to correctional education, vocation, and principles of effective intervention and recidivism reduction, including evidence-based instructional practices. Must be willing and able to travel. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Unless waived by management, valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record. |
