| SCI-Muncy reports inmate death |

MUNCY — State Correctional Institution at Muncy Superintendent Robert Smith has reported the death of an inmate. At 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, an inmate on the housing unit notified officers that her cellmate, Kimberly McKaveney, was unresponsive in their cell, Smith detailed in a press release. Officers responded immediately and began CPR, which was continued until paramedics arrived. McKaveney was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. by paramedics through a Muncy Valley Hospital physician. State police and the Lycoming County coroner will conduct an investigation. The official cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s office, Smith said. Read More. |
